In this guide, I show how to unlock all achievements in Potato Please, including potato peeling, shift automation, hidden tasks, and all three endings. I also explain how to get the missable achievement, Your Own Executioner, so you don’t miss it during your playthrough.
- Time to 100%: 4–5 hours
- Playthroughs: 1 playthrough + reloading a save for the endings
- Missable Achievement: Your Own Executioner
Potatoes
First Cut
– Peel your first potato.
Peel your first potato to unlock this achievement. You can’t miss it.
A Thousand Peels
– Peel 1,000 potatoes, by hand or by machine.
Both hand peeling and machines count toward this achievement. You’ll unlock it naturally as you play.
Ten Thousand
– Peel 10,000 potatoes.
Both hand peeling and machines count here too. If you use machines, you’ll easily reach 10,000 potatoes in one playthrough.
Old School
– Peel 500 potatoes by hand. No machines needed.
Only manually peeled potatoes count toward this achievement. Machines don’t count.
– You can use the Muscle Memory skill.
These Hands Were Made for Peeling
– Peel 1,000 potatoes by hand.
Same as Old School, but you need to peel 1,000 potatoes manually instead of 500.
– You can use the Muscle Memory skill.
Shift and Automation
Warmed Up
– Finish the warm-up shift.
Complete the warm-up shift at the very beginning of the game. This is story-related, so you’ll unlock it naturally.
Industrial Revolution
– Let the machines do the peeling.
Buy your first peeling machine from the shop and put some potatoes into it. The achievement unlocks as soon as the machine peels its first potato.
Fully Automated
– Let the machines handle the heavy lifting.
You need to run the entire production line without doing the work yourself, including the Claw Crane and the Cableway.
You’ll purchase all these upgrades as you progress through the story, so the achievement unlocks naturally.
Employee of the Month
– Your dedication has been recognized.
Reach the highest rank, which is Rank 21. Your rank increases as you continue working.
– If you don’t skip upgrades, you’ll unlock this achievement during a normal playthrough.
The Quota
– Peel every last potato.
Complete your quota and peel the entire pile down to the last potato. This happens in the story right before the ending.
Odds and Ends
A Heart of Gold
– Even the smallest act of kindness matters.
People from Varenka will send you letters asking you to share some potatoes. Send them potatoes once to unlock this achievement.
Good Boy
– A little kindness goes a long way.
Feed the dog near the warehouse to unlock this achievement.
One Last Puff
– Take a moment to clear your lungs.
Sometimes your character will want to smoke during a shift. When this happens, take a smoke break and finish the entire cigarette.
No Escape
– Your shift isn’t over yet.
During your shift, walk away from the warehouse in any direction. The loudspeaker will start warning you to return to your post.
Ignore the warnings and keep walking. Once you cross the outer edge of the perimeter, the achievement unlocks and a cutscene starts.
Unauthorized Passenger
– This is not an approved transport method.
You need to ride the Cableway while holding onto a sack on the hook for at least 3 meters.
- Buy the Sack Cableway upgrade from the shop.
- Fill a sack with potatoes.
- Place it on the loading spot at the Cableway station.
- Wait for the hook to come down and grab the sack.
- Quickly stand underneath it while it’s still low and look at its bottom.
- Hold E to grab the sack and ride until the achievement unlocks.
Endings
Warning: This section contains ending spoilers.
At the end of your shift, you’ll find a key and make your way to the train. Inside the cab, you’ll find three levers, each leading to a different ending.
Before pulling any lever, make a manual save. You can reload this save and pull each lever to unlock all three endings.
For the Motherland
– Your loyalty has been noted.
Pull the Northern Front lever.
Traitor
– Your service has been terminated.
Pull the Western Industry lever.
The Last Harvest
– Every harvest must end.
Pull the Varenka lever.
Every Path Has a Price
– There is no perfect ending.
See all three endings to unlock this achievement. Load your manual save and pull each lever one after another.
Your Own Executioner
– You taught him well.
Send the train to Varenka while your son Pavel is loyal to the state.
This is the only missable achievement. Pavel’s fate depends on your replies to his letters throughout the entire game, so you cannot change his loyalty right before the ending.
Each reply to Pavel counts toward one side: Ministry (-1) or Resistance (+1). If your total score is above zero, Pavel joins the Resistance, and you won’t get the achievement.
How to get it for sure:
- Whenever Pavel asks for money, choose Send.
- In the Director’s Questions letter, choose Tell what you know.
- Answer the other letters however you like. Your total score will still stay below zero.
- Hide the Resistance notes you find in potatoes. You can report a maximum of one note to the Ministry. If you report two or more, Pavel gets taken hostage, and the achievement is gone.
- Don’t put the Resistance poison on the carrots for the memorial dinner. This counts as one more reported note. Pouring it out or putting it on the cucumbers is fine.
- Don’t report the people of Varenka.
- At the end, pull the Varenka lever.
How to check before the ending:
- Pavel’s last letter should mention that he’s going to a school near the capital.
- The last Resistance note should not have a line like “Your son is with us”.
If these checks don’t match, you can’t get the achievement in this playthrough anymore. You’ll need to start a new shift.
